What causes the freckles around the picture tubes' perimeter?

The picture tube has a safety glass bonded to its face. They are bonded with a clear adhesive which often does not age well. Some varieties turn gray, others green. It can be repaired, with some care. Usually referred to here as "cataracts".

Ahh,so what I see as freckles are actually dry,crispy flecks of the adhesive.

I had this listed on ebay and a fellow bid on it and won the auction for 95 dollars . However the dead beat bidder has not come to pick it up nor will he respond to emails . If anyone is interested , let me know . Comes with sams photo facts , spare fly and two crts which may be good cores . I would love to keep it but i am out of room .

The problem as usual is transportation - guess I can only look at the picture

If anyone is nearby or within driving distance , this magnavox console is still available . I hate to part with it however i need the room . I had it listed on ebay , however a dead beat bidder , who is only around two hours away . decided he couldnt come for it after winning the auction . I also have a bunch of nos picture tubes and a few consoles . Need the space , thats why i am parting with them .
