1955 Chevrolet Belair

My grandfather bought this car new in December of 1954. I've made a few changes.

Very nice!

Normally I don't care for those cars mainly because they're so common, but this one's a beaut! It's a very nice departure from the usual red 2-door. Is that sapphire blue? What kind of mags are those? What exactly is under the hood? Is that shifter I see for an automatic or a 3-speed manual?

Ditto. Up here it seems every rust bucket triple 5 chevy that can possibly be patched up to road worthy has been...It is nice to see one that clean and original looking (ignoring understandable engine work). Seems like life is easier on cars down south.

I've always liked the 58's and 59's better...Mostly since they are not the Philco Predicta of the collector car world like the triple 5s.

Very nice. Super clean engine, too. My personal favorite Bow Tie is the 65 Impala.

The color is Targa Blue - early 70's Corvette option.
The wheels are Cragar from the 80's.
The engine started with a 1967 283 truck block punched 40 over
•heads ported, polished, hardened seats, teflon seals, double wound springs
•Cloyes double roller timing set
•Competition Cams and roller tip lifters
•aluminum distributer out of a '69 Z balanced and recurved
•Moroso Blue Max wires
•Edelbrock Performer intake, 1406 carb and valve covers
•intake is powder coated
•1957 ram horn manifolds are HPC coated
•Danchuk 4 core radiator with 6 blade stainless and 10 blade electric fans
•Th350 tranny with B&M valve body

Man, that's pretty slick. This car being a nicely done 4-door restomod makes it much more interesting. It's the best thing to do to a tri-five Chevy in my opinion.

Those are awesome, although I prefer the '66 used in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. My favorite Chevy is the '78 2-door Impala.

This is a beautifully and tastefully done restomod. And a nice car with family history to go with it.

Of all the cars & trucks that had passed through our shop over the years, one of the ones that stands out the most was a plain-jane '55 four door with a 6cyl/3spd. It was a genuine barn find that just needed a basic paint job.

These days, of course, any tri-five, any body style, is like money in the bank.

This is proof that four door cars can be hot too!!

So is this:

Still, I'd rather an intermediate Mopar wagon.

The alternator belt appears loose.
