4K HDMI cable and HDMI Audio out Questions

Are 4K Hdmi cables really superior ? can you see a difference ?

also om a 4K player it has a second HDMI Audio only output , is there an hdmi to rca plugs that will work to hook it to older receiver or do i need that $10 box that converts from walmart ?

The audio on HDMI is digital PCM, Dolby surround and the like. You do need an adapter box for it....granted if you have multiple HDMI sources some of the HDMI switches have headphone/line out...

I don't have a 4K TV or signal source, but I do know that there were some features in some newer versions of HDMI had extra wires to support (the original standard left some pins unused). If all the leads/pins your equipment needs for the features it supports are present and your not running over 16' of cable typically there's no difference in cables between cheap and expensive as the signal is all digital with a small amount of error correction...It either works perfect, intermittently, or not at all.

Everything i read on the internet says a 4k HDMI cable does offer better image vs. a standard HDMI cable

No HDMI cable will offer "a better image", ever. It is a digital signal, so what -could- happen is, you would get an intermittent or no signal at all with a poor cable. If you get a stable video signal from an HDMI connection, it will be --perfect-- meaning that it will be -exactly- what the player is sending to your display.

I have various HDMI cables going back to 2004 here, and several 4K devices going to my 4K TV set. None of my cables have had any problems at all, and none of them are "fancy" or brand-name cables.

If your 4K player has an optical or coaxial digital audio output, I would use that (with a digital-to-analog-audio adapter box) rather than trying to adapt the second HDMI output for its audio signal. But, maybe that will work, too, with an HDMI-to-analog-audio adapter box (is that your "$10 Walmart device"?).

Also, many TV sets can accept HDMI video in and then also send digital audio out -their- optical or coaxial audio connectors, giving you what you want with the same adapter box I mentioned above.
