Wow, that base must be rare as hens teeth, I don't recall ever seeing one before.

Strange that they made a base for the Holiday when the "Barberpole" model existed with the same tube and guts.

I wonder now if it was an actual Philco accessory or aftermarket?

How odd, this is the second time in a month I've come across this base! Check out this blond one I found on Flickr....

It looks like it was the real thing....there's no gapping holes on the side from the side trim/legs if it was aftermarket, right?

An "aftermarket" item can still be well made (factory made or whatever). To me, aftermarket just means something you buy from a third party after you buy the main item. Like the neon license plate brackets and snow leopard seat covers everyone buys to pimp out their Escalades.

On the 21" Predicta, the legs mount with sturdy brackets/screws to the bottom of the case ... they could be easily removed, and no holes would be seen on the side of the enclosure.

This is the first time I have seen those bases. I bought a blond Holiday model with no legs in 1985 and only recently got a set of them (from another VK member). I wonder if my Predicta was on one of these bases at one time too?
