On back looks like 684i35
And 285
No tubes in .

Yes, a tuner. Metal case missing as well as tubes. Maybe someone can identify the TV it came from, but I can't.

I don't know who manufactured it, but Admiral used those tuners in the late 50s and early 60s. I remember having to bore holes in those plastic tubes to get tuner cleaner in them.

I have the cover nothing on it.
It's look different as one side on the 1st picture has the coils and caps to
The selector then the other side 2nd picture just has the tuned metal tabs.

Likely the size with visible coils and caps is the lower VHF band (channels 2-6). The other side would be the upper VHF band (channels 7-13).

The upper band much higher in frequency and uses very small inductors and caps - often just a short wire or metal strip.

I remember seeing one many years ago, and I'm thinking it was Japanese in nature.
