Need some Help..

Somewhere, somewhen ,I bought a TV kit that hails from circa 1947.s looks to be 1/2-2/3 done. It has a3KP1 tube. What I would LOVE to do is big-deal one of youse guys into finishing it up for me. I wi ll happily p ay a reasonable amou for you to do this. I'm pretty sure that there are any number of youse guys who could finish this up & it would not even pose THAT much of a challenge to... -Sandy

A green phosphor tube? That's rather odd. You sure it isn't a scope kit?

Obviously I can't do it due to location.

Nope - they created the TV kits to use up surplus WWII display tubes. The Sept 1947 issue of Radio News has the project, from start to finish, using a 3KP1.

-5this ain't the only one of these salamis I'm familiar wth. About 20 yrs ago, there was a nice artile in "Electric Radio" that featured this set's Big Brother- the AR-60. THEY were $495 in 1934, a newFord V-8 could be had for about $650.)... These things were built to be able to "Take it".We think there are 6, possibly a dozen survivors. Supposedly Amelia's last known transmission was heard on an AR-60. the radio is roughly the same size as an R-3XX
