Hello from Chicago's South Suburbs

Found this site while trying to find info on a Stewart-Warner Model 9202 DDA TV I found out for the garbage one day driving home from work...
I have several vintage tube radios, but this would be my first vintage TV ever. Everything is there except for the back cover. I have not tried to start this thing yet. I found a mouse nest and the skeleton of the builder of the nest inside. Looks like Mickey built the nest but didn't destroy any wiring while living in there lucky for me.. My hope is to pick everyone's brains on this set, bring it back to life and then kick back and do a Jack Benny Program marathon!! :D |

If you have restored radios before, you know how to start on a TV, by replacing wax caps and electrolytics. People around here can help on what to do after that.

Welcome to VK. That is the perfect set to begin with: not too old and not too new.
All my favorite brand sets were made in Chicago it seems. |

Welcome to VK. We have good experts here willing to help. And, I agree on mouse nest, mouse, Wax, and, old plastic cap replacement, and, All electrolytic replacements. Also, those cardboard caps are replacements that I Definitely wouldn't trust. Also, I see a bunch of wax near damper section, and, am wondering where that's coming from.
