Predicta 4654 UHF Knob?
 

I stumbled on a Predicta Pedestal last night (mahogany cabinet), and am in need of the UHF knob on the right-hand side. How much more complex are these sets to fix? They appear to be the same overall "internals," but I'm not sure of where to find a schematic. Also, does anyone happen to have one of these in their stash that they could locate for me?

Finding them is like mining for gold I've found, but wanted to give you fine folks a try. The photos are not mine, they are ones provided to me.

I have the uhf knob you are looking for. These are very pricey! The only place I found that has a used one wants $150. PM me if you are interested.

As far as restoring them, they are not more complex than most TVs of that era. However it isn't mechanically easy to work on them. The cabinet design of all the Predictas tends to cause high chassis temperature which lead to short life of many parts.

Crist Rigotti on this forum has recently started to sell replacement networks (couplates). He has also restored one or two.
Do a search on this forum to find more info about peoples experiences with Predictas.

Way back in the day, the Philco distributor used to sell repair kits for that knob. I repaired a few myself. 50 years ago, that knob was so common, as Milwaukee was a UHF town way early. :scratch2:
