WTB: Magnavox Micromatic turntable

4 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone has a working Magnavox Micromatic turntable from the late 1950s/ early 1960s that you might be willing to part with? I recently purchased a 1956 Magnavox Brittany set. The old Collaro turntable in it is a mess. Rather than spend a ton of time and money on a clunky turntable like that, I would rather toss in a Micromatic. Much better running turntable and it is from the same basic time period. Only requires minimal mods to the plinth and wiring to get it in there and working.

Shoot me a PM if you have a micromatic that I could use.

Below are a few photos of the set. Enjoy!

Best Micromatics are 1958-1966. Otherwise you get cheaper build quality, slower changer mechanism, and poor to no cartridge choices

The collaros made before the micromatic came out are still pretty good, they have the same motor, same trip mechanism and can track at 3 grams or maybe less. Like any changer from the 50s or 60s, they will need cleaning to get out the old hardened lubricatns for them to wwork properly, and probably motor mounts and idler wheels. The later micromatics have the cool arm scan to set the sie, but the earler bsr style drop sensor units work just as well, and allow sizes to be mixed in any order, unlike the
micromatic.
