But dammit I GOT ONE!!!
It was great meeting Pat (grimer) and his wife out on Long Island over the weekend. Beautiful home they have, and what a great collection of sets, radios, and FANS! HUNDREDS of em! Too bad I only brought the Scion ;) Anyways, here she sits in my living room, until the trek into the basement for a total redo over the winter. In fact, it's not far in the pic from where it will proudly sit, with Lawrence Welk on a Sunday night :) |
Oooooh, Dat's Purdy, Tim ! Ya done GOOD ! Can't wait to see the Glorious Lollipop Color !.....
|
Congratulations! Nice looking set.

With that and the Philco (?) behind it...what more does a fella want?
|
That is sweet!
CTC-12 or 15? |
She's a 12. Haven't seen one exactly like it in any reference materials, but then again I haven't looked too extensively yet....

To get my first roundy I had to drive from the Milwaukee area to the ETF convention and then pay about 120$. Then a few months later a friend of a friend who I asked to be on the lookout for a roundy found one and I got a second one in all around better condition for free (plus a Zenith radio console free). And this was after years of searching for a tube color set. Aint life strange?

That is very similar to my 12 that I need a crt for. I will be watching for the restoration thread and pictures.

Congrats on a safe and positive trip! :)

Nice set, congrats!!

Nice danish style, glad to see you collecting a roundie! The newer crts have a good chance at longevity compared to a 50's roundie. definetly a better cabinet style.
