Hi guys,
New here, I recently bought this beautiful set, freezed in time, its in very good condition, unfortunately its missing the Flayback and I don't got the service manual, can someone help me with this PN? Thanks. Gustavo Attachment 206412 |
Not listed in Sams.
Probably one of the "component" line from the early 80's. You may want to search by chassis number. Its on a big tag inside. Most have this format SCC-###-??. good luck Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |

It's cool to see one of those complete. I've got a couple of the tuner/AV switcher units that I use to remote control 40s-70s era sets.

That's very cool set never seen one before in person or in a picture. Hop you get working.

I looked up the chassis ## still no Sams listed. ( Sams is the biggest provider of reprinted manuals for US sold sets ). So your set may never been sold in the US or in very limited numbers. BTW what country are you in ??? When you find the FBT keep in mind the CRT connector is COAXIAL & must be removed very carefully. The center has a spring on the CRT that can bet bent or lost. The HV line from the FBT to the red H-STAT control is a push down & turn. good luck Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |

I really appreciate your help, its in deed a rare set, was sold in 1980 Sony Profile line, extremely expensive and just a few units, as I find out It was sold in USA as well but probably by now just a few survivors. Gustavo |
I have the complete service manual for the Sony KX-2501, if you think it might give you insight on the operation of your KX-1901. Similar set with 25 inch CRT.
Nice find and your rack system is rare. |

I wish you well with the restoration of your KX-2501 and VTX-1000R tuner. I bought and owned those two models when they were available new in the USA, in early 1982. The cost was perhaps US$380 for the tuner and US$650 for the monitor, and that system utterly blew away everything else in the consumer market at that time.
In 1985, a local store had the KX-2501 (25-inch CRT) monitor for US$750, half of the retail price, so I upgraded to the bigger screen. What was unique about this system was the ability to upgrade components as improvements were available. The original tuner VTX-1000R had cable tuning up to channel 36, then they made the VTX-1100R with 125 cable channels. Further, they also later sold the matching MLV-1100 (I think) that enabled broadcast stereo-TV sound. I remember getting those two units used at good prices some time later. The SL-2000/TT-2000 will be a nice companion setup for your Profeel system as well. |
Excellent, great details thanks, It was a wonderful setup in the 80s and I think it was quite expensive, etype2 has an incredible documentation and photos of this models.
