ETF convention attendees and classified thread

Figured since we're just over a month out of the ETF convention, I'd start a thread for those of us who are planning to attend.

Please feel free to post in this thread stuff you want, stuff you want to sell, if you need a room, if you need a ride....or whatever else you'd like to post.

For those not familiar with the meet: http://www.earlytelevision.org/2015_convention.html

rca2000 03-24-2015 04:41 PM

I am going .THIS time--for both Saturday AND Sunday. Everything is already reserved.

I am for SURE bringing a 7JP4 tube not new but good.

Not sure what else yet...

Kamakiri 03-24-2015 08:15 PM

I'll be arriving in on Thursday afternoon, to have time to relax on this mini-vacation and have time to settle in and hang with my TV brethren :D . Shipping out on Sunday AM.

Kamakiri 04-01-2015 08:20 PM

Okay! Here's a few things I can bring with me to ETF, if anyone's interested :)

Picture tubes:

21YP4 RCA Silverama, tests excellent, $25
21EP4 RCA Silverama, tests excellent, $25 (SOLD)
17BP4 Arnco - tests great but it looks like a VOT failed while someone was out of the room and it's got a line burn. $10 (PENDING SALE)

Delivery to ETF in a month, but I'd ask for PayPal in advance....I just don't wanna be stuck bringing them both ways ;)

BigDavesTV 04-04-2015 08:51 AM

Thanks Tim, I could really use the 21EP4! PM sent.

Kamakiri 04-04-2015 03:10 PM

Sold! :)

Kamakiri 04-06-2015 08:05 AM

By chance is anyone coming from the Detroit area and can carry a 17" picture tube with them for captainmoody?

philtar0079 04-06-2015 09:27 AM

Etf

I am going to the convention Thursday-Saturday. I and am getting there in my dad's panel van. I could provide transport for anyone's big purchases back east. I could drop off purchases within a reasonable radius of Buffalo, NY. If anyone's interested PM me.

Notimetolooz 04-06-2015 05:30 PM

I have a couple of oscilloscope CRTs I could bring. I've got a 3AP1A and two 2AP1A's. Also I've got a couple of cabinet parts for an old Truetone D2923 and the chassis of a RCA 8-X-546 minus the antenna loop.
I am looking for a good 21ZP4A,C.

Kamakiri 04-06-2015 08:27 PM

No auction pictures up yet though on the ETF site :sigh:

BigDavesTV 04-07-2015 11:35 AM

I should be able to carry the 17" CRT, back to MI, for Captain Moody.

BigDavesTV 04-07-2015 11:42 AM

I would like to find an RCA CTC 36, or CTC 53, these are the plastic cabinet "portable/table model" 19" screen color set. I will be at the ETF MEET in Hilliard Ohio, May 1,2,3. Thanks, Dave.
I also have this posted this in the "Classified" Section under the "Post your want lists" thought I'd try here as well! Looking forward to 1st. weekend in May:)

Awesome!

One thing I do need is a shipping box for a 21" rectangular black and white tube for someone on the FB TV group that necked the one they had in a working set.....if anyone has one.

Kamakiri 04-07-2015 02:57 PM

One thing on my serious want list right now is a bubble magnifier of any kind for a 10" set.

Or, anyone that might have a restorable or working chassis for a Philco 95 highboy radio. Friend of mine has one and the transformer is cooked....

vts1134 04-08-2015 08:49 AM

Any one coming from, or driving through, the New Haven CT area that would have space for a 12" table top?

rld-tv01 04-08-2015 11:07 AM

I have a spare bubble magnifier but I'm in California and won't be bringing it on the airplane. If you still need one after the convention let me know.

Three more things I need :)

Two of which are knobs, as shown here. I'll buy them whether you'll be at ETF or not. One's for my son's Admiral 30A1 and the other is the fine tuning knob for this 1940s RCA channel knob....I need the one that goes underneath.

Lastly, if anyone has a chassis for an RCA 730TV1 or RCA 730TV2, I could use it. I'm rather frustrated with mine :)

Let me know what you need and I'll bring it along.

Darryl

Kamakiri 04-08-2015 09:06 PM

One of each! Thanks a ton!! :)

tubesrule 04-08-2015 09:56 PM

OK See ya there.

vts1134 04-09-2015 03:06 PM

Ohhhh Knobs, I didn't think about that :scratch2:.

I need some of the common RCA knobs. I need three of the inner knobs that RCA used on it's dual controls. You know the ones that are rectangular with a round bump out in the middle. I had two on my RCA 730TV1 that my daughter decided to liberate and one other set that was missing one of them. I also need one of the "pinch" style knobs from RCA that they used in the late 30's.

bgadow 04-10-2015 09:24 PM

As mentioned in another thread, friends of mine have a lot of 70s/80s video equipment (among other things), plus I have lots of items for sale/give away. If anyone can shuffle things from MD to OH, let me know. I'd love to get to another convention but it's hard to justify the drive right now.

Kamakiri 04-10-2015 11:33 PM

Impromptu trip! Wife wants to get out of town for the weekend so she wants to get to Lancaster PA :) . I'll be meeting up with Dave tomorrow at some point and heading back out from Lancaster Sunday morning.

Anyone need a 17DQP4 tube ?--got one that i beleive is NIB. Will bring to convention if anyone is interested. Will check on 70 before bringing.

rca2000 04-11-2015 04:44 PM

Also think I have a bezel from a porthole, 16" set. WIll bring if any interest.

And then there is that CTC-4 set with a tube that has gone to AIR_-but chassis is complete, (seleniums have been removed and silicons in their place) cabinet not too bad. Some knobs missing and back cover missing.

Any interest?

A CTC-4 would definitely be more worthy of that NOS 21AXP22 than a CTC-5 IMHO.

Kamakiri 04-12-2015 04:11 AM

That 5 I have is so untouched that I almost don't want to touch it! Recently took an offer I couldn't resist that came out of the blue on my RCA CTC-68 twins, so space I have.....I'll decide later which one would get the tube. Or maybe I'll just find another. I do know where there is a NOS CYP ;)

BigDavesTV 04-12-2015 09:40 PM

I wish I had a good, or n.o.s. 21CYP! :-)

Kamakiri 04-13-2015 01:31 PM

They're around. Through talking to a TV buddy I know someone else that has one sitting in their laundry room. Talking them out of them? Well, that's the hard part....

SOLD Update!! The Philco 51-T1601 is fixed. Found a wire from the vertical osc block transformer that was soldered to the wrong terminal strip lug. Damn human error!!!! See pic and video link below. For Sale!!! Make me an offer and I will bring it to ETF convention in a few weeks to hand it off. PM me if interested in this set or anything else on my list earlier in this post.

Thx!!!
