Hi all
Here is my story I need a 16RP4, well I won a bid on a crt that was supposed to be a 16RP4 but it is not a 16RP4 :thumbsdn: I dont know what it is. :scratch2: It works o k but it is slightly longer than a 16RP4 and the high voltage lead will not reach the CRT connection I have to use a short jumper. I have a weak 16RP4 and it fits perfect so I know the one I got from Ebay is not a 16RP4, and I cannot find any marking on it.
So does anyone have a 16RP4 that tests good out there? :scratch2:

I think you may have bought a 16AP4.

A 16AP4 is a 52 degree, round metal CRT. The first 16" CRT made.
The CRT, The O.P. received is probably a 17BP4. A lot of difference!

The 17BP4 has the slightly rounded sides and top and bottom. The 16TP4, 16RP4 CRT's, the top and bottom and the sides are almost perfectly flat.
This is from 55 years of experience, working on early B/W sets.
We got away with using 16T/RP4's in place of 17BP4's, buy not the reverse.
This was due only to fit issues, not to electrical issues. :scratch2:
