Ctc12

Finally got to pick up the RCA round in Arkansas. It is model 213g356mv. CTC12a chassis. It is all there and pretty solid cannot, but the cabinet will need the top refinished. I will be watching for a good 21FJP22 CRT, since this one is broken.

Note to self: trying to enter text while riding in a truck is not a good idea. It is a roundie, and has a pretty solid cabinet.

That's a nice looking set. That cateract looks about like the one I have on my CTC-11.

Guessing that the tube has been necked?

Bill R 03-10-2011 10:42 AM

Yes tube is necked. It slid up against the back of the truck while moving in 1971. Set was working until then. It was unloaded and put in a spare room. It has stayed in the same spot for the last 40 years. It was the family set in the 60's, the guy I got it from told me he remembered watching the moon landing on that tv and he just couldn't put it out on the curb. He gave it to me instead. I will restore it when I have time. I would like to know it's name though. My field service guide does not list that model number. It is a high hours set I think, so I hope the flyback is good.

Bill,

While your model #213g356mv isn't listed in the RCA Color TV Field-Service Guide, it is listed in the SAMS Photofact Index #640. Of course no model name is given. Anyone have a CTC-12 (Mark 8 series) catalog?

Speaking of Moon landings! I still own the set I watch the first moon landing on.
From the 1963 RCA catalogue "The Abbeville". I purchased the set used in
June 1968 and here it is 43 years later. OH, ya just know these are all gone.

The model # you posted is different from the one Bill posted. I've seen the Bentley/Trent model and the cabinet style is similar but different from the photo Bill posted. The Bentley & Trent have sculpted legs and slightly different grill cloth pattern.
