Unusual looking experimental image orthicon shaped camera tube on Ebay!
 

G'day all. Just been browsing Ebay for camera tubes and have found a very rare unusual looking experimental camera tube that looks like an image orthicon tube in shape but totally different in structure. Here is the link to the auction:

Does anyone know what this camera tube actually is and it's application and if it was an experimental prototype or production type for special application???

The white plate in front is unusual for a photocathode, which would usually be transparent - perhaps it is meant to detect something else, like xrays or deep infra red.

How unusual!

There seems to be two gun assemblies in the tube neck, I wonder if it was some sort of optical/read/write storage tube.
