Capacitor class action lawsuit
Not sure if this is allowed, but I'm pretty sure it applies to everyone here. I got a paper notice in the mail and decided to join the action, since I'm sure I've spent several hundred dollars on caps over the years. Not sure if anything will come of it, just posting for awareness.
Feel free to spread to other site if you think it will help. http://capacitorsindirectcase.com/do...m%20Notice.pdf |
You will get a check for .53 cents and the Lawyers will get $50 mil.

I can probably get a few orange drops for that

Don't see any American companies that are part of this! :thmbsp:

I got the same post card. Any idea what caps it covers?

Thanks for that.I'll have my attorneys read the fine print on this.Tired of stuff blowing out due to these caps.
Cheap guts inside and no QC on them so now they got to pay. |

Okaya (film and safety caps) NEC/Tokin (electros and memory caps) Nitsuko (NO idea...) All are sold primarily to OEMS in Asia - hence the price fixing. I buy all my caps from either DigiKey (free shipping...), Allied (ASC, and in good times, Mallory and Illinois Capacitor axials), and occasionally, CE Distribution (but only during sales, and again, name brand...) I think they bought a mailing list of subscribers or customers - makes no sense as to why many were on the list. With the terms/brands, it could also be a phishing attempt to find fraudsters, kinda like the soft drink class action suit back in the early 90s (real) but with 60,000 fraud cases, most not pursued, but those claiming they bought 30 or more cases got litigated....the soda was sold only for export...most didn't read, and saw only $$$$. Dangle the baited hook.... |

Matsushita caps spiked in price for a while, but that was the Tsunami/Fukashima disaster and the reduced production. |
