I've owned this Toshiba CZ-2685 for 21 years, and have repaired it in the past. I don't have a service manual (was in TV/Audio buisiness years ago). The other night it went out. The symptoms are: no tuner operation, no CRT raster (although horiz and HV is there). The "video" input audio works, but the volume only works when remote or front panel 'vol UP' switch is tapped many times (high volume)... as the 'vol down' switch is pressed, the audio won't go to low volume... it just goes quiet. When turned off, the CRT displays a white 'dot' in the center of the screen. All internal fuses OK.

Has anyone seen this before on a Toshiba TV? Anybody have a manual or can offer some help?

Thank you very much!

Check for bad caps around the flyback and power supply. Toshiba TVs of this age tended to slowly roast these caps with heat from near by components. Bad soldering is also common on some hot running parts in the power supply and near the flyback.

Especially the 3 lead regulstors. You are probably simply missing one of the low voltage B+ voltages.
