Can anybody find me any complete videos of the 50's "Captan Kangaroo" starring Bob Keeshan? It was a big favorite as a child......

Also looking for videos of any 50's tv kids shows in Detroit, and "Fireball XL 5". Thanks.

The complete Fireball XL5 is available on DVD:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007J6DN/qid=1152481927/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-1000012-4012056?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130

Some of the used sets are pretty cheap.

I remember a few years back seeing a DVD of Soupy Sales. I don't know if it is still available.

xl5 is 49 bucks at deepdiscountdvd, a lot cheaper than amazon. I loved that show as a kid, even had a model fireball and then built space city with one of those "Super City" building set's. I may buy it, but I can just hear the moans and groans from my wife and kid.

Then again, that might be reason enough to buy it.

The best take-off of Captain Kangaroo was on SCTV (or maybe SNL-I forgot) called "Captain Combat". The sidekicks were "Gunny Rabbit" and "Mr. Green Fatigues", absolutely hilarious! The memory is sketchy but there was a LOT of gunplay and over the top violence! Anyone remember that?

Then again there was Greg The Bunny (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002PYSB0/104-5180615-2048703?v=glance&n=130) A Homage to Captain Kangaroo of sorts, a brilliant series that Fox axed because of overintelligence.
