I picked up this 12" Bakelite RCA today, it came with the original wooden stand but the back is missing along with the model number.
It uses a KCS-45 chassis and oddly enough for 1949-50? an electrodynamic speaker!

Eric,

The KCS-45 chassis was used in the Model 2T51 "Shelby", the KCS-45A in the 2T60 "Cumberland" (console model).

Thank you Chuck, I guess this must be the "Shelby", like the Mustang.
Wonder how it would look with a Blue racing stripe :D

Eric,

I just picked up the 16" version of yours (6T54), for $2 I couldn't pass it up. It has three gold "racing" strips around the case. I'll post a picture when I get it cleaned up.

$2  wow, what a deal!

Does it use the metal cone 16AP4 CRT?

I'm just about done rebuilding the stand for this TV.

It was really wobbly and the paint was falling off but the wood itself was in fine shape!

I took it apart, sanded everything, reglued it and painted it.
This is the first coat of paint, it needs a couple more, it's also not quite dark enough but... oh well.

The curved groove across the front of the stand is supposed to be painted gold I think, at least there appeared to be traces of gold in it when I sanded it.

Eric.

Is that black shadow to the left of the stand what I think it is?

Yes, it's my big fat "Black Kitty" :p:
I have two others, "White Kitty" and "Grey Kitty"
I'm not very good at naming them.

I have three of the black ones, and all are attracted to the vintage radio & tv sets - perhaps because I am!

MY project is a RCA 6T54! It has a 16GP4 CRT This set weighs a ton. I need to know a source for the .018@1000V caps in the high voltage section. What can I sub in the place of those?

Here's a photo of my 6-T-54 with the matching 6CB1 base with built-in antenna.

AES sells a .02uf 1600v unit, I would imagine most of the other suppliers would have the same part.
