the same and more tubes than the B&K 707? It looks like the 707 has more sockets. I am thinking about getting a 747 but I hope it will test all tubes from the '50's and up. Does the 747B do even more than the 747?
Thanks

I'm not sure. I have a B&K 667 which I LOVE. Tests most all tubes except the "octal" ones that I think Philco used. Here's what one looks like from an eBay auction that ended awhile back. http://cgi.ebay.com/B-K-667-Solid-State-Tube-Tester-Vacuum-Tube-Tester_W0QQitemZ9713395932QQcategoryZ3284QQcmdZVie wItem

I think it tests the same amount of tubes.Just the setup for some of them is different.I have both a 707 and a 747.The 707 I've had for years. It is in rather poor shape as I rescued it from the dirt in the basement of a retiring tv tech years ago.The case is literally falling apart but it works.Someday I'm going to restore the case.Inside it looks fine except a little rust on the top left corner.Would love to find a new manual for it also. It's in separate pages also.I recently got a nice 747 and haven't played with it much but notice that it tests all tubes with the dynamic Mutual Conductance test. The 707 tests the ones that plug into the bottom section with only an emission test. This includes all compactron tubes.I wonder what year each of the B&K testers were made?Seems like there were a lot of different models.I saw another old B&K an old tv tech had.It was a model 700.
