My guess is this model (http://cgi.ebay.com/21-floor-model-Philco-Predicta-great-shape-rare-style_W0QQitemZ6272747374QQcategoryZ3638QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem) is rare in this condition.
Paint that thing white with some red roses and it'll be rare in that condition too! :nutz:

I have to ask...
If you watch "THE EXORCIST" on one of those things, will the picture tube spin around like Linda Blair's head?

Is it just me or is that simply a DIY formica conversion joke that went over the head of the current seller? Did Philco ever sell formica cabinet Predictas? Say no, please.

I am guessing it is original.
Someone here will know.
If it is not original it may have been covered proffessionally when new for an afluent customer. If that is the case I believe it is still worth very much.

It is home made. Nothing like that ever came out of the Watsontown cabinet plant.

It's a "Frankenset" made from the corpse of a dead Predicta.

I'll say this for it: it looks better than if I had tried to do it!

I don't think that one is factory but I have a Predicta that I believe to be factory and I have never seen another. It has a Princess chassis in a painted gold wood Holiday-like cabinet. No model number as the back is missing. Photo below. Anyone familiar with this? Maybe an export model?

That's a very rare model of Predicta indeed, they didn't make a whole lot of those. They were sold as the "Horseman", and were marketed at the blind. They were somewhat cheaper than the "Princess" but not by a lot. For whatever reason they weren't too popular.
