Well I shouldnt have and I hope I dont regret buying em but heres a couple of pics of some Radios I bought. This one is an old Zenith. Not sure which model # but maybe you guys can help me. Tim mentioned that I should count the tubes and I see 8 tubes plus what I think is one behind the Dial. Not sure if that one is a lamp or a tube since its in a some kinda sleeve

There's one more Philco but I am to tired from moving these around. If anyone has any info on them I would appreciate some.

Grump,

If you happen to have Collector's Guide to Antique Radios 4th Edition, look on page 151. There is a Philco 39-31 with a different cabinet style, but the front of the radio looks damn near identical to your Philco. Kinda hard to tell in the book, but the dial looks like it might only have two bands... yours looks to have three. Other than the questionable number of bands on the dial and the cabinet style, the arrangement of knobs, buttons, and bezel look the same.

Grumpy,

I thought you already had a nice old radio that you didn't need. ;)

Those look nice.

Grumpy,

The tube behind the dial in the Zenith is the tuning eye, visible on the dial. Look at the very top edge of the back of the cabinet for the Zenith model number. They frequently stamped it there, often with very faint lettering. If you look closely, you might be able to see it.

That Philco chassis is one of the 40-150 or 40-155 series (1940). The servicing info & schematics are available here (each link is a separate page):
