I just posted a note about the apparent demise of my 13 inch SONY KV 1212 which I bought in 1975. Looking to rehab it if it is not prohibitively expensive. Or sell if it has any collectible value. Problem is it gets power but no audio or picture; something must have "blown". Are you an electronics techie, or just a collector?

Mine does the same thing. I turn it on, it immediately blows the safety.

I was told it's something in the power supply, a diode, a cap, can't remember. I've been trying to get a Round Tuit for a while now...

I'd be interested to hear the ideas in following posts.

IIRC, the KV-12XX series were the 1st Trinitrons seriously imported here in 1969-70. They were kinda expensive, but had that picture that soon became famous. Plus they were solid state at a time when US mfgers were still stuck w/either tubes or at best hybrid designs.-Sandy G.

I just picked up a Sony model # KV 1203 set. I scored farting around town. Is this one of the first Trinitrons??? Can someone date this for me??? TV works great! Set rivals in quality of anything else made today, NTSC wise. More than enough brightness, adjusted not to bloom out picture. It's a new TV to me..... If someone has an extra SAMs photofact on it--- I'll purchase it from them.

:D :thmbsp:
