Hello.
Has anyone had success recreating the soft padded? CRT mask on an old Admiral TV set? (or any set) I have an Admiral 30A14 10" set that's missing a chunk of it's crt mask glued to the inside glass. (Photo below) I tried white 1/2" foam but it didn't look right, and the edges were jagged even after cutting with a new blade. What was the original material? Any help is always appreciated.

Jim,

I would cut a slightly oversize (so you won't see it) outline mask out of 1/8" tempered masonite, and hot glue some 1" wide x 3/8" thick, slate coloured door sealing felt to it in the I.D. to the shape of the mask. If you can find a square foot of 1/2" thick navy or slate colored felt and cut out the holr for the picture, so much the better.

looks like you could flip it over and make the missing part hard to see.(put it at the top)
if it were mine i would get some white foam board the same thickness and color and cut one out with a xacto knife.
