Emmett Till was the kid who was killed in Mississippi in 1955.

Looks like the TV has a CBS channel 2 on. Likely in Chicago, not Mississippi, if what I find on the 'net is accurate...
The TV looks to be fairly new for 1955, Wonder what make and model it was. Think someone said it was a Philco?

Looks very similar to the 1953 Philcos that both my wife and I remember from childhood (which I still have). Both were purchased late in 1952, and had the optional UHF tuner installed in the center. This appears to be a fancy 21" set with doors, but no UHF.
Knob style and layout of wife's set:

:) Hi jr , yes indeed that link works fine , and I absolutely LOVE the look of that UHF tuner !!! In all my years I've never seen that before on a split chassis Philco , even though I must have seen 100s of them with the aftermarket "UHF adapter" box sitting on top of the set .
:thmbsp: Thank You for sharing that picture .

Milwaukee, being a UHF town early on, There was a lot of Philco's that had the tuner option. They seemed to be a dealer installed option, instead of factory.
It was a two tube unit that received it's operating voltages from the piggy back adaptor that plugged into the audio output tube socket.
It must've been a more expensive option because many of the Philco owner's opted for the set top convertor.
I have a Philco set top convertor in my collection. A wood cabinet with a bit of gold trim.
