Here's the other set that was dropped off for repairs along with the Admiral T2301. I think it's the nicest example I've ever seen. No scratches, chips or cracks, all knobs are present, and the metal grille isn't dented.

The only flaw I see from the outside is someone installed a fuse holder where I think there had been a curcuit breaker originally. They enlarged a hole in the process.

Was hoping for an aluminized 10FP4, but it's a plain old 10BP4. Oh well. Haven't tested it yet.

Very clean chassis

It's a little grungy inside the HV cage, but nothing that worries me.

and finally.... The only work I see is a few of the electrolytics at the bottom have been replaced.

Black plastic tape!
Of course heat shrink tubing is fairly recent product, but I still cringe when I see black tape. I've seen too much of it fall off.

Bob, someone recommended to me, when I was restoring mine, to put a piece of cardboard over the speaker before doing any work. It’s super easy to put your hand through that speaker while moving it around. Good luck on the resto!!

Nice example Bob. Obviously well taken care of. Rare to see the sticker on the back with the control markings. That always falls off.
Mine is the best performing vintage TV I ever had. Flawless. Unfortunately it has the typical small crack on the very top by one of the rivets that I properly fixed. It can hardly be seen.
I personally like the "locomotive" with the rounded-square screen. The double-D version just seems to not flow as well with the lines of the set.
Good luck with the resto!

I found this name and address stamped on the chassis. Maybe the original owner?

Very likely an original address. It had a "zone" number which was pre-ZIP code days, so the address is prior to July 1, 1963.

Our man Bob doesn't need luck. With him it comes naturally.
It must've been quite a while since it was worked on the last time. I like the old type 25L6G. Looks like the glo-bar resistors are original.
I have a chassis for one of those. The vent ribs were all bashed in on the top of the cabinet and were gone. The CRT was replaced at one time and it wasn't very good anyway.

You should have been at the ETF this year they had a perfect empty bakelite cabinet that went cheap.

Was such a deal I was trying to think of an excuse to bid (spare cabinet for mine...Nah, mine is in really good shape)...If I had known you could use one I'd have bought it for you.
