Scored this today in rural Tennessee for only $10. Unfortunately, just like the roundie, it is a very high hour set, with a weak CRT, and no HV. Many updates to come as I make progress cleaning it up.

This is just the TV I'd expect to find on Friday the 13th. It's so high hours, that the tube sockets crumble when looked at, and it is full of thick, grimy dust. It's scary dirty.

At least there's no mice. If there were, you'd hear them sneezing.

I cleared the cataract out of the rebuilt picture tube today. Getting the cataract goo out was the easy part. Putting the tube back in - I hope to never have to put a tube in a Motorola ever again. It is the most idiotic way of mounting a picture tube ever conceived.

Yup they suckt so did Admiral especially UG'ing from a 23EGP22.

HINT
Put a box under the CRT. When its loose the cabinet will drop down
& you can easily pick up the jug. In reverse use a light & mirror
to be sure the CRT is centered then torque it down. Some Jap
sets come out the front & are bolted from the front. Do the same
but lift the cabinet away. Have a 10 MM deep on hand for them.
Newer sets with "ears" to mount usually come out as an assy.
Shield, DGS coil, yoke etc. Pull & put on table, also the new CRT
& move things over standing up. The lazy way is the best here.

Only Moto of that era I've owned was a table set that had spent decades sitting on it's side rusting in a basement....If you think that console is bad try dealing with a cramped rusty metal box with stuck fasteners! The only good part of that cataract job I did on that set (aside from the CRT surviving) was that I needed to dismantle the whole thing anyway and the cataracting made me do it sooner.
