Picked this up and had a bad power resistor solder joint, look at this pic, nothing like an old crt made in Japan still produces a nice pick.

The CRT is probably either an RCA (EIA274) or Sylvania (EIA312). timmy 03-29-2016, 06:34 PM The crt is a A48AAB26X. zeno 03-29-2016, 06:34 PM Remember those well. IIRC labeled LXI. Fun to work on & always ran nice. An underrated set. 73 Zeno:smoke: dishdude 03-29-2016, 09:02 PM Nice picture. radiotvnut 03-29-2016, 09:13 PM There should be an EIA number (probably in small print) on the CRT label. IIRC, those sets had an oddball vertical module that is basically a few surface mounted components on a small PC board that solders to the main chassis. Sometimes, these will develop cold solder joints. timmy 03-29-2016, 10:12 PM Well that's lousy because I lost several little paper stickers when I used a blow gun to get rid of the dust. It did have a sticker on it that said Sears. |
