I'm picking up this Admiral combo in a few days.

Normally I don't pick up combo's but I like the blond cabinet and it has all the correct knobs.

Does anyone know the model number?

I don't know the model number, but you seldom see a set that age in that condition. The blond finish, makes it a bit more desirable.

I agree that although these Admiral combination sets are fairly common, being blonde and in exceptional original condition makes it a standout. Usually blonde sets look stained and dirty from rough storage. A really nice '40's console that'll play beautifully when electronically restored.
I couldn't easily find the model number. It seems these usually have the small upper half-doors rather than the full length ones, but Admiral made many variations of their sets at this time. Just do a Google image search till you spot it.

But I think the Chinese version (4H18) is very cool.

As I said before I'm suppose to pick it up on Monday. Hopefully it is as good in person as it is in the photographs. I was told it comes with the original documentation, etc.

If it's looks in person like the photos show, it appears to be a set that may have been kept in climate controlled part of the home all these years. In that case you have a real gem there that's definitely worth acquiring. Good luck!
PS - The black Chinese version is very cool, but I actually like that blonde version even better. A classic post-war look.

It's finally home.

The model number is 4H167A (B). It is interesting they used the 4H166B label and crossed off the "6" and wrote in "7". The 4H166 has the mahogany finish. The rear of the cabinet is stamped 4H167-A. I'll have to do more research about the differences between the A, B, and C models.

The TV chassis is a 20B1 and the radio chassis 4J1. Larger speaker then I expected.

It weighs a ton!!

There are scratches and one side has scruff marks. I think most of the imperfections can be improved upon.

That is an awesome and classic '40's console TV! Even with it's light cabinet issues it's rare to find a blonde finish that clean. Take your time and look into all the great products out there that will get that blonde finish refreshed and looking like new. Nice that's it's complete with it's back. That's so often missing. The chassis looks real clean too and likely will be a simple restoration. These are excellent performers.
