Finally got around to replacing the tripler in the CCII that I bought this summer for a whopping $6. I had one ECG 526A left over from my tv shop days, and was determined to finally put it to use!

It has an 1988 date code, so that part has been waiting patiently 27 years.. LOL!

My grandparents in their old house in their back bedroom had a 1970s vintage Zenith Chromacolor II set that was in a pretty plain looking console cabinet that had a walnut finish but it had lost its color and I tried fixing it once or twice when I was there at their place when I was younger but they told me not to touch it. And as far as I know my uncle probably tossed it to the landfill (or burried it one of the two) along with a late 1970s vintage RCA Console TV that last time it was used over 10 years ago it still worked and had good sound and picture... :sigh:
