I've always wanted one of these JVC Pyramid Capsule sets, but could never find one. I picked this up with another on Craigslist for 40 dollars and restored this one. It's model is 3100r. The other one needs another power transformer. Don't know if I'll ever find one.

Yeah, I offered a guy $50 for one once, but he turned it down. I think they were Hott Schitt on Da Bay, everybody thought they oughta bring $2-300.

Cool little TV when it's closed.

They still do bring a couple hundred on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/JVC-vintage-Pyramid-TV-Works-Really-Nice-3-day-/111657564988?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19ff4f3b3c), or close to it.

I picked one up on the Goodwill auction for $10 I think it was, plus shipping.
Had to buy a new CRT for it but that was only $50, and still available surprisingly enough.

Exact transformer replacement (unless it is a switch mode supply) is unimportant. Get one with he same primary and secondary winding voltages that fits in the same space as the original, and is not substantially smaller, and it should work. If you don't now the voltages consult the schematic...If it don't explicitly tell ya it ought o give ya the info to reverse engineer it with a bit o math.
