I wish I could make it this year. If I get my tax return before the auction I may think of bidding on that 21CT55, though I should and probably will put that in to improving my car.

I haven't missed one yet!

But if YOU can't make it this year, we plan to do a live webcast of the events all day Saturday. It will be available on the home page of the Early Television Foundation and Museum's website (http://www.earlytelevision.org).

I will be there. BOTH Sat and Sunday--getting there friday evening.

I set up everything over 2 months ago.

Bringing a good 7JP4 and a CTC 4 that MAY have a aired tube--but Steve does NOT think it is. It WILL be tested at the ETF to make sure one way or the other before auction.

May also have a pretty much complete predicta 10L43 set with good tube.

I plan to take stills for later posting as usual.

Dave, bring something soft to throw at me if I step in front of the video camera!

A dear friend of mine has reported to me that in the convention there was also a nice CTC7 Worthington (that I'm searching since a lot of years). Has anyone some pictures of this tv set? It's quite rare to find out one of them! :)

:boink: Oh yes! I thought that the Worthington could be sold for that amount! It's a pity for me that I couldn't be there!
However I hope that it was sold to someone of ours and that he put some nice pictures on Videokarma, because that set was never portrait well on internet. :)

I just got home. Not all the Ed Reitan exotica sold, but all four color-wheel
sets (including the kit) did, at good prices. Not all the CT-100s
(some with bad CRTs) sold. The RCA prototype didn't
get to the $35,000 reserve but got to $20,000 or perhaps
22,000, it was not clear.

Two of the museum's working color wheel sets died
during the convention (the CBS adaptor and the DuMont).
The ColorTel NTSC convertor worked but its set had bad
horizontal sync, while the other convertor next to it
had a working set but a broken wheel belt.
Their CT-100 got seriously ill. The Westinghouse
15GP22 set was however looking absolutely stellar. Their
new military Iconoscope camera worked flawlessly.

That set was still there as of about noon today...it has not been picked up yet.

My CT-100 was one of the four for sale. It sold and is going to the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis for their collection. It will have a good home and a better place for the future. Three of the four available did sell. The auction of the Reitan collection was a spectacular success with bidders stepping up to buy and the silent auction was well sold as well. It was a very good weekend for sales and for the future of the museum.

In the end all four CT-100's sold. Everything of Ed's sold at the convention except the RR359 and the Hallicrafters 21".

A big thanks to Tim and everyone who helped get this massive auction ready on Friday and Saturday! It would have been nearly impossible without everyones help.

That Zenith was a no sale last year too. It was pretty rough. Weak picture tube as stated on the front sticker as well.

I bid on the 19" Andrea, but only went to about $25 on it. I came home with PLENTY enough! A couple of the sets I got there were no pics of either, there were a lot of last minute sets that showed up that went to auction.

Who ever bought that CT-100 with a 15GP22 to air that was "never sold", PM me.

I have a picture of Johnnies Radio Service, where it was found. I bought my first washing machine there in 1989.

Dave, it was my set that sold. I got it from Johnnie when his health was declining years ago. It went to the Indiana State Museum. Interestingly, they told me they got their first two from Thomson. In 1978 I sold my first CT-100 to RCA. I was not prepared to fix them then and the vert xfmr was bad. I suspect my set is one of their other two. PM me the photo if you can for old times sake. Thanks. D

Its nice to know you got that from him. I was not aware until I saw OLD TV NUT's picture. I bought a RCA 8T241 from a "steel company house" that he sold them back in the real heyday of Birdsboro.

I got a bunch of other small stuff from Johnnie but the other best was a RCA TV counter-top flip display of the 1948 line. Page after page of all the models in two-color. It is a maroon fake leather covering and staying here. I have never seen another one and should get photos up here...as soon as I find a good counter for display. I am not sure Birdsboro and heyday can be used in the same sentence.
