Wondering if anyone know anyone with a Kuba Komet and here is why…..
I am restoring one currently.

It is complete, though the cabinet (that is part of the Top Sail) is missing.
I have the face of the Top Sail and the monitor lens, but the rest is gone, so I need to reproduce it.

I would love to find an owner who would be willing to do some measurements and pictures for me.

Thanks!!

I believe the Early Television Foundation museum in Ohio has one:

You could also try contacting the Kuba museum in Germany: http://www.kuba-museum.de/hauptseite.html . They have one, and I wouldn't be surprised if they would get interested in helping, at least up to a point.

You're very lucky to have one of those, they are super rare from what I believe. Best of luck with the restoration, I hope you get the required info. From what I remember, a special African dark timber was used for parts of the sail and the lower cabinet. Does yours have the curvy CRT or the rectangular?

Please post pics of it if you can!

Cheers,

Adam

I have the round CRT, versus the rectangular. Still seeking any other Komet owners who I can run some detailed questions through for help on my loooong restoration process.
Thanks
