Well it's not the most elegant replacement, but it works and allows me to keep the original look by keeping the canister in place. I was going to use terminal strips, but it wouldn't have worked. I would have needed to extend wires and such. This way I only needed a heavy ground wire, a little hot glue to hold the pairs together, shrink tubing and a wire tie. They're not going anywhere and all leads and joints are protected from shorting.

There are a total of four caps there. Two for the 500uf and two for the 400uf.

oh i see, it looked like a single cap with dual leads on that black one, but I can see two neg leads as well.

Realizing that re-stuffing can be time consuming and sometimes a pain to do, at least there was room for you to remount your caps.
