There is no "buy it now" price of $500. That went away when the first bid was placed less than 3 hours into the auction.

Zenithfan....you know you want it. If it was anywhere close to me, I'd be all over it. Would love to see a restoration thread.

what happen to it ,it was there when it started ,when then the starting bid was .99 looks like the seller it pulled once he seen people bidding on it.

Unless the seller sets a reserve price in the auction, the BIN price always disappears at the first bid.

must been what it was then, to bad i would have just paid that then before someone else did if that was the case.

You have to be aware how eBay works if you're going to play the game, and then be ready to make the commitment.

Yeah, there was already a bid when I got there. I would have clicked buy it now without a second thought otherwise. I'm still gonna try for it though. Maybe the third time is the charm and I'll get one this time.

I bet that goes for over 15 hundy. Not sure why someone would list a BIN on an item of this nature, nor why someone who got there first and was interested enough to bid wouldn't just scratch up $500 and Press BIN? Maybe they were out of driving range and just jealous someone else might score a better deal than they got... Worse comes to worse you'd probably get the 500 back by just parting it or relisting it. Turns out the bargain was at the Buk auction and not ebay BIN.

Well, It's up to 910$ now. I figure I'll be completely out of the running when it goes past what one of my paychecks equals because I have an extra one this month..... Any more than that, the next guy is welcome to it:D I still think we should have waited to bid, but, it was just too tempting after that BIN went bye bye:)

It's at my limit of 1,100 so I'm for sure done. It was fun trying though. Maybe I'll get the next one. Anyways, good luck to whomever gets it. I hope it has a good CRT for the price it's going for. I also agree with Stromberg48, I was guessing 14 hundred but we're thinking along the same lines....

I think, If the seller is to be believed, and it's just been stored stationary all these years, that there are a lot of gamblers out there hoping the tube isn't aired.

If it means anything, my CTC5 Wingate sat in the same spot in a mansion for 50+ years being very well kept (it's mint) and the tube was full of air. The filaments went dark very quickly after they lit:tears: but now I have a like new AXP for it that took four years to be in the right place at the right time. I really really hope this one is good too.
