Hello Everyone,
Thanks for allowing me to join the fun. I will confess that I really don't restore my vintage TVs to working condition. I will clean them up as best I can, find knobs (if necessary) and then privately display them. I've been looking for some knobs because, several of my sets came from a local man who purchased them when a repair shop closed down. I became interested in collecting vintage TVs when I worked at a television station over a decade ago. Although I don't do major restoration, I have learned alot about some of my TVs from reading threads on this site. For example, I had no idea there were so many different chassis for the Motorola VT-71. Also, I ask the memberships patience with me when communicating as I'm new to these types of forums and it may take a little time before I'm up to speed.
Thanks Again!

Welcome!

There are people here interested in fucntional restoration and cosmetics and both. Personally, I stink at the cosmetic stuff, but love to see the sets running.

If you're near someone who does functional restoration, you might have an opportunity to swap efforts on some of your collection - just sayin'

You can really impress visitors if it looks great and Surprise! works too.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's a good idea. Maybe in the future I'll pick a couple of favorites, have the CRTs tested, to see which would be the best candidate, and work something out with someone.
