Thanks Dave Ed in Tx 12-06-2012, 03:49 PM Don't have that manual but I looked in one I do have for a KDF-50E2000, and 3 red blinks equals "Lamp cover not securely attached" or "Lamp not inserted properly". mstaton 12-06-2012, 07:44 PM Lamp is likely bad Geoff Bourquin 12-06-2012, 07:50 PM I can confirm that 3 blinks is lamp door error. I have seen a bunch of these with broken switches on the door. For my own set I might just short the switch and call it good. At least until the new switch arrived. I just installed a new XL2400 lamp assembly.Maybe its just not seated properly or the cover is not properly installed or I broke the darn switch trying to install it. avionic 12-07-2012, 02:20 AM Good call Ed & Geoff...The cover was improperly installed. The latch was not engaging the switch..Alls good in the avionic video dept.:thmbsp: Made Mama happy too.No ones happy if Mama's not happy.:D Ed in Tx 12-07-2012, 07:57 AM And it didn't even cost you anything extra! What brand lamp did you get? A friend of mine ordered a "Sony" lamp off of e-bay but it was an no-brand aftermarket lamp. Ad should have said "FOR Sony". Anyway he ended up sending that back, buying a Philips lamp-reflector only and reusing the lamp holder. avionic 12-07-2012, 03:35 PM Hell I didn't even check. I got the unit off of Amazon..so its probably a cheap knockoff from china. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-XL-2400-Replacement-Grand-Projection/dp/B000CRT07U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354915690&sr=8-1&keywords=xl2400+sony+replacement+lamp Ed in Tx 12-07-2012, 03:42 PM What happened was my friend ordered one on e-bay said "S0NY" not "for S0NY", and "Genuine". A few days later he receives it as a "gift" from Amazon! The e-bay seller fulfilled the order with that same $35 lamp for only $50! My friend was already aware of the cheaper lamps on Amazon which is why he bought what he thought was genuine Sony issue, made by Philips. avionic 12-07-2012, 03:52 PM Where would a good source be for the phillips bulb only? Ed in Tx 12-07-2012, 04:01 PM Where would a good source be for the phillips bulb only? He finally ordered one of these... http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KDF-E50A10-KDFE50A10-Bare-XL2400/dp/B002Y0SW0Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1354917504&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+XL-2400+bare+Lamp avionic 12-07-2012, 04:20 PM Do you know the actual phillips part/model # ? Ed in Tx 12-07-2012, 04:32 PM Well, upon close examination of the picture of the box in the Amazon listing looks like it says "PHI/379S" and UPC # 56375 00133 . |
