Well I was given this set over the weekend and its in good shape. Which is funny because the house it came out of was missing 10% of the roof and second floor. Within a foot of this tv was a 1968 Magnavox that had a crumbling cabinet.
This set is model number 233 c 715 mv.
Anyone be able to look up the Sam's for this set?

Actually the house was in far worse shape than I am giving it credit for.

If you go to the Sams website and type in your model number without any spaces, it will tell you the Sams folder and set numbers:

Did you get any pictures of the house?? I love lurking around places like that. That tv seems to have held up well, looks very restorable.

The rest of the house is unsafe. No stairs.. they are gone, sections of the floor are gone. the ceiling is pretty much wood supports as the plaster and lathe board is on the floor. the 68 maggie next to it was soft enough that I pulled the main chassis with no tools. just pulled on it. Pics of the house.... no. I was too worried about tv's. blinders on...

Yet on the rca the veneer is not even peeled at all. I was told it was run a month ago but I know that I will restore the electronics first plus the damper was white and the getter was flaky on the inside of the tube. I am hoping I can find a 23bk4 for this set in case I need one

I think that it's a sure bet that RCA's new Vista worked a lot better  than Microsoft's Vista. :thumbsdn: :D

The Sams number is 649-3. I might have a spare copy (my notes say I no longer have the remote/hi-fi stuff that went with it but I think I still have the main TV chassis package). If you want it, send me a PM.

Nice save! My grandparents had this exact RCA set in their home for many years. It never failed, other than a horizontal output tube after 20+ years, that I replaced.

The set had pretty decent sound, too. Granny needed it turned up in her later years.

Sold a boatload of those brand new back in the day. Very nice reliable sets, very few problems with them.
