Sorry if this note is inappropriate for this forum, however it involves this forum.

If I try to email someone the link to a thread they would interested in reading, Verizon won't allow the email to be sent and claims the link, such as this one:

http://www.videokarma.org/showthread.php?t=255296

about mechanical TV is spam as determined by the Verizon spam detector.

It is NOT spam.

WHAT IN THE WIDE, WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS IS A GOIN ON?????

Anyone else run into this? How do I avoid this and get other people interested in VideoKarma?

Thanks for any help,

Cliff

The fault (if you consider it a fault) is in the Verizon SPAM filter. SPAM filters use various algorithms to decide what is SPAM and what isn't. Few algorithms are perfect.

One solution is to use http://www.tinyurl.com/ to convert your original URL into something shorter. For instance, here's the tiny URL link to my website's TV gallery:

http://tinyurl.com/9fasfgc

I don't use Verizon mail, so I can't check whether the tiny URL substitute is also flagged as SPAM. You could check that by emailing yourself a tiny URL.

Another alternative would be to contact Verizon and ask them to "white flag" links to VK so that they aren't trapped by the filter, but that would be up to them.
