i post 3 adds on craiglist all the time, wanted old tv's. i had a lady call me asking me if i was interested in 5 console b&w tv's, they where re-opening a motel and they have been there ever since, [ she says ] and that i could have them if i wanted to make the trip .if there are any member's near ann arbor interested you can call her 1-734-769-5314 she really didnt know alot about them ,she described them as being small console's and from the 60's she said ,if you live near there and can check them out there free , you never know what she really might have its worth a look ,ill try to get some pic's from her .she sounds like she needs to get rid of them to open this motel .

does anyone know if there was a model of emerson that fits that discription that was possibley marketed to motels in the 50's - 60's she insist they are b&w she keeps mentioning the short legs on them if that helps, i ask where are the knobs on it ,and she says on the frt not the side.

im wondering if she has the shape of the crt confused, ill bet its one of thoughs with the short legs and controls up frt. she mention the cloth in frt to and lifting up the little door for pic controls.and she was sure about the hight being 38'' i guess this might be worth a road trip ,problem is 5 tv's man id like a picture from her before i drive that far.

Wouldn't that be something if it were five 50s Emerson roundies? It's intriguing whatever they are.

well with 5 sets you should be able to atleast make one to two wowrking sets assuming they are all the same but they might all be complete...

im thinking about a road trip if there are no members near ann arbor, but also ill be *&*@#off if someone else goes and there like all color set's from the 50's, and she's just dont know what she's looking at. that would be my luck ,but on the other hand i can't see a motel buying 5 color sets in the late 50's they where not cheap .

Not a bad looking set. I tried finding the Sams folder but nothing is making sense. Possibly this is it? https://www.samswebsite.com/en/photofact/search/index/model/1680

Sams 502-1 is November 1960.

That doesn't even vaguely look like it.
I doubt that's the right schematic.
Interesting looking set.

Mid 60's looking, nothing all that special but it would be cool to have five of them all lined up.

im thinking on it i just dont have anymore room ,i dont really want to put them in my parts shed in the backyard, thats why im trying to share this load with someone ,my wife is giving me the evil eye about bringing home another bunch of tv's, i just got a zenith color roundie tonight from the guy in three rivers.i have pretty good luck finding tv's but dont know where to store them .to bad i cant share some of these tv's with people that cant find them in there area's.

What I do with some of my old floor model radios is I put out in the shed with a large plastic bag over them till I can get to working on them. The bags I use are for furniture, large enough to fit a easy chair. Would fit a tv fine or if it's too small you could use one for a loveseat. I do this just to protect the set from water damage. I'm in the furniture biz.

I don't think that's as old as 1960. Probably one of those mid 60s that were really thin as far as depth as compared to most consoles both before and after this period. Great space savers for a motel..

I have one like that, nice set, has a 5U4 tube rectifier, vertical chassis mounted around the CRT neck.

23" tube with a 5U4 puts it in a pretty narrow time frame ca. 1961.

Looks to be in pretty nice condition. I imagine the others are in similar condition. You could almost make a retro TV store! Have all 5 playing the store window.

See If you can't try and get some friend to hold them for you and then every few months try to sell one and pick up the next one or if you want to keep all of the sets just hide them in nondescript places and be like that has been there for months

it would be nice to snatch them up before we later see them on craigslist as fishtank tv's , there's got to be someone closer that could get them ,and there just not seeing this thread. you never know the tv's might have had regular maintence being in a small motel .
