Too far away for me - looks like a 1960 RCA CTC-9 Latham?

No affiliation

Nice, but I never really understood the 1$ on ads like this. Is there some kind of requirement to post an amount in a CL ad? I have never placed one before.

hope someone here grabs it before a FT'r does.

He's got the channel selector knob I need! Maybe I can offer 2 bucks for the knob only. :D

I have never placed one before. To create a craigslist for-sale ad, you fill out an online form that has a blank space for entering a dollar price. If people aren't sure about the price, I suppose it's human nature to type something in the blank space, even if it doesn't make much sense.

There's no downside to leaving the dollar space blank -- your ad simply appears without a price in the title -- but a first-time craigslister wouldn't know that.

That's very close to NYC. With such a large population center, how could this still be around?

Looks like he/she wants a dollar or best offer. Sometimes they mean 1K dollars. people selling cars often put $1 to make you look at the ad but in the text it will say 1K or 10K. This one says $1 in both places.

This TV is literally 10 mins. away from me. I can't take it in though, no room.

If there's no room at the inn maybe you can pick it up and hold it as opposed to some bad fate happening to it. Hopefully somebody in your area is interested.
