Overpriced perhaps but how often do you see a SC Color set.
I think it's Color anyway?
You could tell it's an SC just by the channel selector knob!

Yep, I wouldn't pick on anybody for paying that much. I only recall 2 or 3 SC color sets being owned among the membership here, and I think this is the best cabinet I've seen from them. I just remembered that I have a brochure from that era-if I can find it, maybe it has more info.

I had a SC color set in the early 80s. I gutted it so I could put my T-809 Maggotbox in the cabinet. I've been kicking myself for much of the last quarter century. The '809 is long gone. I still have the SC cabinet. Very solid.

I wonder who made the chassis? Looks strikingly like a Sears Silvertone cabinet & control panel. I wonder if it's a Warwick?
Even though I'll be in Granada Hills today, I'm going to pass on it at what I think is 10x/fair price.

I'm in the middle of S-C land and I've never seen one of those. Very nice.

They were a unique chassis, from what I've seen. The one I saw had a layout something like a CTC-15 but it is made up of a number of sub-chassis'. I think they are all hard-wired? I gather they then plug in to each other. "Unitized" they called it-I guess it was the first modular TV. (they may have started it with bw sets?) The one I was lucky enough to see in person was a roundie; they are just odd all around. I'd sure like to have one.

I like weird sets... I'll watch it to see if they reduce it to a reasonable price. I scan the CL ads every week or so for that area.

cool tilt out control panel.
Interesting. Did they get the idea for the tilt-out controls from RCA? :scratch2:
