Bid placed! Probably won't hold for long though, I imagine someone else wants this way more than I do.

How many sets use this tube?

I believe the ETF has an unconverted 19" Motorola with a necked tube so I guess they could.

Moto 19CT1 sets used it, as well as CBS, Hoffman and Capehart.

Anyone else think those Beltron readings are a bit TOO high? I don't want to risk buying an aired tube I don't really need, is there anyone in the area that could put a CR-70 on it?

Reason I ask is I thought I had a good 21AXP22, but it turned out to be contaminated. It gave very high readings, but in the end it glowed purple. I'm not too familiar with the Beltron, anyone have an opinion on this?

The Beltron tests emissions only. That looks about right but I would like to see that at 5 volts. .8 to 1ma is good emissions.
The tube could well be gassy, yes. It needs to be tested with a tester that applies a cutoff voltage to check for the purple glow.

I have that exact Beltron and have tested at least 100 crts with it. Its very quick and covenant but thats it. I have a CR31 for true testing.

I would not buy that without seeing the cutoff.

That's what I mean, only when trying to set cutoff was I able to see that the 21AXP22 had gone to air. After a certain point, the needle would just peg. The manual calls this 'gas regulator' action.

I'm mostly just a spectator to all of you guys and your amazing feats. I've learned a lot but am not a TV collector as of yet (just periodically restore antique radios but my main hobby is film collecting). I am in Vacaville, CA which is only 60 miles away from the seller. I would be happy to pick up the tube on behalf of whoever wins it and either hold it until it can be retrieved, or carefully pack for shipment per the buyer's specifications and ship. Unfortunately I don't have a CRT tester to verify the tube.
