Description of Estate Sale says
"This house is a Television museum: TV’s from the early 50’s to consoles from the 70’s."
Worth a look for locals but could be extreme driving to this Swedish burg.

This is right out by my mom and dads place. I'll be stopping by at this sale and save what I can.

If you save the roundie and decide not to keep it, you know who'll take it off your hands:D

I do like this set alot, I never had an Admiral roundie before and would like to have one in the collection. This is the same TV that was in Art Margolis' color TV repair book from '68. One of his techs was holding a degaussing coil in front of this set when he described how to adjust purity.

The sets in this house look somewhat well used though. Nothing worse than finding an old set thats been serviced a million times, loose chassis, missing tuner shields and the infamous brightener... Hopefully this isn't one of those. Cabinet looks like it got hit by the vacuum cleaner a few times along the bottom edge. I guess some battle scars to be expected after 45 years of being in someones home.

The CRT looks free of cataracts, maybe it's a newer replacement.

I know what you mean SandyG, there ain't nothin' around these neck of the woods!

Keep going west from Pheasant Run Juke & Antiques show and you soon hit Geneva, the cleanest and neatest (Swedish) burg outside of (German) Green Bay.

That set wont have cataracts. It should be the type with the rubber gasket instead of PVA. Very similar to my Admiral except for the wood cabinet. Probably the same chassis.

After some reconsideration, I won't be able to make it to that sale like I originally wanted tomorrow. I've got so much stuff right now and a hectic work schedule that it just wouldn't be right to keep adding more onto the pile when Im in the process of trying to downsize. I already have more TV's than I know what to do with, not to mention a vintage lawnmower collection on top of it! My garage is currently full of TV's waiting to be picked up so I really need to pass on this sale as I'm simply out or room right now until I can get things in order at my new house. I still have many more TV's but they are hard to unload because so many of us are just too far away and the cost of gas is a big factor these days. I really hope someone can pick up the space command 200 and the Admiral roundie at the very least! Those need to be saved!

Pix 46 could be a color set, but even with the crappy camera angle it sure looks like a commmon RCA b/w set, although a nice one.
Damn it all I wish I leved closer!!!

It is a B&W set. 1950's, probably a 21" set

Good, the Admiral was saved. Did one of us get it I hope? I hope all the other can be saved too.

And no, thats not a ctc-5 you guys. It's a b/w, study that CRT a bit more carefully!

That's a B&W 21-D-somethingorother, not even close to being a CTC-5. If there were a 5, I wouldn't have posted this... :sigh:

She also said someone else called and is on the way there.

That was me, but she confirmed there was no CTC-5 and I didn't waste 4 hours of time finding out. Only thing of value left is the Zenith.

I did end up going to this sale as it was only a couple miles from where my parents live. So I went to visit them for a while yesterday and then drove out to the sale. I bought the combo, it was a packard bell which was a nice set so I had to make arrangments to save it even though its the last thing I ever needed to bring home. The other sets were pretty well used up though. The Admiral was still at the sale when I arrived too. I did find out who bought it purely by accident though, so the secret is out :D He's one of us, and is in the Detroit area, so hopefully you keep us updated and provide good pictures!
