I'm really getting tempted to make a deal with the seller for his set after looking at your picture. I was curious as to the knobs and the rings behind the knobs on the sellers set but I can see that your set has the same knob setup. The picture on your set looks GREAT! It's just Cool funky lookin set! I see you have it on channel 11.. how did that work out?

They do make a decent picture. I sold mine years ago. It was one of my earlier TV projects.

I spent a good long time talking to the seller of this set. He's a rock musician looking for vintage amplifiers. He says the new ones just don't sound the same as the older amps. I think he's talking about the "warm tube sound". I couldn't help him out with that but I could Identify with what he was saying only I would say there's nothing like a "warm tube B/W tv for sight and sound"

Bottom line, he's looking for the antena, If he finds it I'm game. Lowest he'll go is 50 bucks.

I have one, need an antenny for mine, too...I reckon these things were The Shiznitz about 1956, '57 or so...

Further comments on the antenny... the seller says he might have it but it's probably in one of his many boxes of ..stuff.. in his storage locker. He said the set was in a barrel of odd parts and things that he's collected over the years. He got the set as a graduation gift from a freinds dad who had an electrics store that sold the sets new.

I read your restoration write up on the set. you said that you could not get the horizontal to hold. Do you think that's inharent in the set of just particular to your set?

Horizontal and vertical sync problems are common in all vintage TVs. That set wasn't unusual. Recapping and one adjustment did the trick.

As I noted before, this is not the easiest TV to restore because all the components are crammed into a small space. If you're looking for a first project, you might want to start with something a little roomier in the chassis.

I see those pop up on ebay now and then, I will bid on one if I see a clean example, I like emerson stuff.
