G'day all, been coming across more great historical films from the 40s and 50s on the development of television and thought I'd share them with you all:

Tomorrow Television 1945:

Some great rare studio shots featuring the early iconoscope cameras

The Story Of Television 1956:

Excellent footage particularly when it hits the colour television segment

RCA Presentation - Television 1939:

Some excellent studio shots featuring NBC's iconoscope cameras. Some footage from this film was also used for the two above films.

1949 NBC 10th Anniversary Special (kinescope recording):
Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wswTTxj8_ls
Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_UiotAS0Nw
Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6mZjWQXg-0
This is rare excellent footage indeed, I love the 1948 remote footage of the aircraft carrier and its planes taking off being shot on I assume RCA TK-30 image orthicon cameras, would be totally amazing to have seen it live!!!

Only pity about the TV screen shots in these films is that they were superimposed shots due to the difference in film speed and scanning speed of television, would of been great to see how the pictures would of actually looked even though there will be obvious flicker. Fortunately the 1948 Australian demonstration of television they filmed the actual pictures on the TV screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdMp62X0H-A the pictures from the PYE MK1 mini iconoscope camera look pristine!!!

Anyways enjoy!!!:thmbsp:
