I had no idea Goodwill has online auctions.

I think they've been doing them since about 2002. I had a friend who worked for Goodwill at the time they started them up. I believe an outside company ran the service, and if a Goodwill store signed up to do it, they had to submit so many items for auction per week or something like that. Problem with that is, as some stores quickly found out, they were sending their best stuff to this company leaving their stores with little to attract customers. In extreme cases, store profits were down, with only a few hundred dollars extra profit from the online auctions.

I enjoyed bidding on stuff with this site for the first year or so. As Kevin said, most aren't aware this site even exists. As a result, a lot of good stuff was selling waaaay below the Ebay prices. I picked up a Beaulieu 4008zm camera for about $100 with shipping, at a time when that camera was going for $400 on Ebay. Now, it seems prices have stabilized, so I don't check it out as often.

I've picked up several nice little TV's from Goodwill for cheap, including a working Bugeyed Zenith for $5.00, and this near mint 1950's Japanese Tel-o-master, also $5.00 as I recall.

Hmm, maybe I should have kept it a secret. :scratch2:

Hooray, I finally got the portable I've been looking for.

The two tone green TS-105 is mine. I suspect if my wife has her way, it will end up as turquoise and cream.

Anyone have any first hand experience with this model?

Anything I need to know about before I get elbow deep into it?

I've looked for the differences between the T-102 and the TS-105, but I don't find much on either set. Anyone know the differences?

I think the difference between the 105 and the 102 is the color, possibly the case material also.

My 105 has an AL suffix and the case is Aluminum while the model 103 is a Turquoise/White one in a Steel case.

I noticed the set in the other thread is a different color blue, more metallic maybe and it has no handle, another variation perhaps.

Here are my two sets, the Turquoise one was a major mess when I got it, quite moisture damaged, all the paper and foil tube shields had rotted off and I had to repaint it with some off the shelf Krylon, a decent match but a few shades darker.
It was my very first eBay purchase and I paid $38 for it I think.
The Green one was purchased from a lady who contacted me through my Site as I recall, gave her $45 for it and it just needed a Damper tube to get it running, it still fires up to this day though I've never actually used it.

If anyone needs a handle or knobs, check out this auction. Those are Admiral knobs and handles - not GE.
