Talked to the seller and they said it worked. Then lost their number, debating recontacting. Forgot to ask if it was color(i assumed it was).

Anyone have any idea of the brand and year?

It's an RCA Victor, definitely a color set from the early 1960s. Somebody else will no doubt be able to tell you which CTC chassis it uses (something after 11 and before 16). I hope they don't think they're going to get a fortune for something that size missing a knob.

I don't know if that knob's missing or not, there is one knob that looks that way from afar. This one may just be missing the gold trim from the middle. I love the look of this set. You should go get this one right away if you can.

I really like the styling of that set!
It has Rca's "feather touch" tonearm that the used in the early 60's.
I had a portable from 1963 that used that same changer.

I would be all over that. Those are great sets and have the ability to produce a fantastic picture. I know the combos are less desirable, but if that has the 15"s it bumps.

My thought on this is that if it were anywhere within a couple hundred miles from me, it would be mine.

Contacted them, yet again. Maybe this time when and if they answer the phone, i can coerce them into letting me come over. Looks like theyre no more than ten minutes from me.

It truly amazes me how hard some sellers make it to buy anything. They either never answer the phone, emails or never seem to have the time for you to come over.

It is, they said theyd take less on the phone.. Then never could set up a time for me to come over.. Then were NEVER around to answer the phone. After two weeks of calling, i gave up.

Good luck on this bro, I picked up a 16 combo last year for $100 bucks, maybe the sellers dont bother because they know that they are not going to get what they think its worth? I hope they answer you, its a real nice set and IMO these are too easily overlooked because of thier size. I think the stereo in these things sound great too, a nice wooden echo. Enjoy, Bruce

This seems to be typical on craigslist. Someone has something vintage like this old TV, the sellers surf the web and run across videokarma and see about 20 people in a population of about 300 million who happen to discuss TVs like this and of course they think someone is going to shell out major cash to grab it. They're greedy and the TV will sit outside under a tarp next to their garage until someone offers them about $500 before they consider selling it. By that time the TV is ruined and or full of gouge marks because it was being used as a work bench in the interim. Same phenomenon with the grundig console stereos, they see a highly laqured attractive cabinet and instantly think huge cash/collectors items while the guy who just wants to save a cool peice of history is screwed and either looses out due to greed or the seller hangs onto it and then decides they'd throw it away vs. selling it for cheap.

OR 25 people who watch VK but never post anything show up at 7am to an estate sale that opens at 9am. Grrrrr
IF YOU WANT IT DONT POST IT IN THE PUBLIC FORUM, GO GET IT THEN POST IT AFTER YOU OWN IT.
I bet someone saw your post and already got it.
