HI,

i'm also a video enthusiast of younger generation.

Check out my homebuild PAL/NTSC station logo inserter:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p00pxdZAcOo

The parts used to build it costed less than 20 USD and it's based on MAX7456 IC. I originally built it for my small analog pirate station, but that project still got delayed due to not having money for a good transmitter. Would there be interest from video community to finish it (so logos can be loaded from a PC and with a on-screen menu) and put it up on the web as a free DIY project?

I plan to make this into a device that could do this:
- Selectable choice of around 8 different logos stored on device
- "Basic" character generator with fixed-width font
- Time/date generator with realtime clock

Reminds me of what my friends and I used to do using an old Commodore Amiga and a genlock. Worked great for overlaying logos.
Neat looking project.

Hi there - if i ever finish the project so it's user friendly, i'll post it here too. EE studies is taking away all my time, so i'm not regular visitor to these and other boards.

Although, building this requires SMD soldering skills and knowledge of programming a microcontroller, it can still be made a lot more user-friendly than it's now, by enabling the user to upload logos to the OSD IC using a PC instead of using another MCU circuit to program the OSD IC.

Maybe, it will eventually get finished in the holidays, as i recently managed to broadcast on VHF - so i need it myself now.
