In case anyone is interested there is what I believe is a Philips LDK 2 studio camera on Ebay Australia.

I've attached a link here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RARE-VINTAGE-STUDIO-TELEVISION-CAMERA-/220718282178?pt=AU_Vintage_Cameras&hash=item3363d5b5c2

have been told it doesnt work

needs CCU and cables, so prop value only

if it was in good tweaked working condition and complete then asking price may be realistic but as a prop, its not worth spending that much and courier fees to get it here

He claims it's from Ch 7 (a Marconi buying station)
I didn't know 7 Bris had any of these but 9 did. Cheaper than a Broadcast Quality camera at the time, but they paid the price in terms of PQ & registration.

Yes, i think 9 is more likely - these were often used on telecine chains as well - and like you say it was a cheaper version of a studio camera when you didnt want to pay for a studio camera!

I've heard they were a bugger to get going and align and werent that wonderful because of the cheapness - most i have seen have the monitor falling off because people tried to tilt it...and its not meant to tilt or swivel as such it seems.

Just heard from an insider that 7 had these too - also know someone who copied the excellent manual that has helpful circuit descriptions.

Hi all, I just joined the forum and saw this thread...

An LDK2 (or what I think is a 2) was used in a telecinie chain at ADS 7 in Adelaide, South Australia. It was delivered as a telecinie package complete with two 16mm Philips projectors running off an Eastman multiplexer. It was brought in quite early on and used for colour TV demeonstrations to the public and then run on air in B&W prior top the change to colour TV. It continued in service right up to the 90's.

Attached is a grainy polaroid of it in service.

While this thread is somewhat old, any idea of how much the one on ebay went for or what an LDK 2 could expect to bring these days?
